Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) is coming to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin, Missouri on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
Basic Disaster Response Training for individuals from Lutheran congregations, LERT is a network of volunteers trained to respond in times of disaster.
Description
A registration fee of $35 per person will help to cover the cost of lunch and snacks, training materials, and LERT T-shirt. How long will training last?
9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Please arrive by 8:30 am to complete registration and sign in.
What will we study?
There are three main sections:
- An introduction to the LCMS Disaster Response program
- Congregation preparedness
- Lutheran Early Response Teams
Who can be trained?
Anyone who is interested in Disaster Response is welcome to attend this LERT training session. However, only LCMS members who are 14 years or older will receive certification as LCMS LERT volunteers. You will receive your certificate of participation, volunteer ID card, and T-shirt from the LCMS Disaster Response Office after the training is complete. Your LERT trainer will distribute all the LERT materials during and after the class.
